The detail process is slow going but it adds a lot of depth and brings the figures to life. I spent most of Wednesday evening working on Joseph's face and refining details in his hair. Sunday I worked on his clothing and started building up layers to make his shirt drape correctly.

The image below shows the difference between last Sunday and this Sunday's progress.

Week 6

10 years ago I heard a calling to paint stories from the bible. Today I am excited to announce my next painting in this series called, The Nativity. I have been lucky enough to partner up with Willowbrook Community Church in Forest Lake, MN and do something I have never done before. The next 8 weeks I will be painting publicly to share the progress of my work in front of hundreds of people. Each week I will paint between the 9am service and the 11am service and share my passion for painting and bringing the story of Christ to life on canvas.

I welcome you to come and check it out and invite your friends to see what we are up to at Willowbrook Community Church. This past Sunday I kicked off my painting with a great start. Below are a few photographs taken by Heidi Schauer of my first day of work. Stay tuned for more and follow along with the journey. #willowbrooknativity

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
