Week 7 I was able to start refining the details on baby Jesus and began working on Mary's face and hair. I had a few surprise guest show up to come see the painting in person. The detail process is slow going but it adds a lot of depth and brings the figures to life. I spent most of Wednesday evening working on Joseph's face and refining details in his hair. Sunday I worked on his clothing and started building up layers to make his shirt drape correctly. The image below shows the difference between last Sunday and this Sunday's progress. Sunday I was on Spring Break with my family. When we returned I got back to work as quick as I could. Wednesday evening I was able to get a few hours of painting in and covered the background in a another layer to start making it shape up. It's not "finished" but its one its way.
